I Guess Zombies Won't Eat Everyone...
Posted by Angus on 08/13/2008 (1950 reads)

Pamela AndersonWe were surprised to find out that zombies do have some standards when it comes to who they will or will not eat. Who knew? Our PETA friend Pamela Anderson did make the list, but not for some of the reasons you might think. Now we're pretty sure she still hates us and our Meatatarian ways, but she is fun to look at and we are very glad she would be safe from a zombie attack!

Check out the list here.

Who's Up for Some Bakin' with Bacon??
Posted by dirtykalb on 08/12/2008 (2632 reads)

You heard me right - Baking with Bacon. And to kick off the bacon bakin' extravaganza I bequeath upon you the apparently famed German Oktoberfest cookie.

Bacon Cookies

4 slices bacon, cut into small pieces
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup butter or margarine, chilled
1 egg
1 pinch salt
3 tablespoons heavy cream
1 dash ground black pepper
1 egg yolk, beaten

1. Fry bacon pieces in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon to paper towels, and cool completely.

2. Into a large mixing bowl, place the flour, butter or margarine, egg, salt, and heavy cream. Using the mixer's hook attachment, mix the contents of the bowl together until combined; then transfer the dough to the counter, and quickly mix with your hands. Knead in cooled bacon pieces and pepper.

3. Roll up the dough into a log, to a diameter of about 1 1/2 inches. Wrap in aluminum foil, and refrigerate for 2 hours, until firm.

4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Remove foil, cut dough roll into slices, and place slices on greased baking sheet. Brush each slice with beaten egg yolk.

5. Bake in a preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, until brown. Remove to a wire rack until cooled completely.

Meat CookiesWell, you won't see this on Sesame Street, but there might be a lot less militant "Go Veg" adults pushing their beliefs on us if it HAD been.

Check out this song and puppet ensemble "Meat Cookies" from Leslie Carrara-Rudolph and her pal Lolly.

Chew & Review - Trail's Best

The Jerky Jar

We know...we know! It's been a little while since our last review. Sorry! We have been scouring the world and the web for all things meat! While on our latest Meat Quest we were walking through our local grocery store where we came across a very nice display of jerky. We were familiar with most of the brands, but there were a couple that we had not yet gnawed upon. So we closed our eyes and randomly grabbed a handful. The first lucky contestant is "Trail's Best -Original Flavor". Enough of the gab! Less talkie, more reviewie!
